After some fishing around, I found an old Spyro game in my collection. I remembered seeing some stuff out for it and what not, so I decide to look it up. Apparently, a movie that was gonna be made has been cancelled because of the whole 'reboot' deal.

In my own opinion, I am interested in the 2nd reboot. I have my doubts on the 3rd reboot, but I'll still try it out in hopes it doesn't feel so alienated... On a side note, I'm slightly upset at the movie not being made. So, now I've been inspired to make a 'fan-made movie script after I play the 2nd reboot trilogy).

O.K. Fandom mumbling set aside, do you think the series need yet another reboot? scratch
It seems to be getting into a very heated debate.

Hard to say really...... I personally LOVED the series (Can't hold a candle to Crash Bandicoot tho Razz ) and I would LIKE to see a reboot, but I don't think it would be good for them to stray from its roots ya know? I don't wanna see Spyro all jacked up into a roid monster like they have done with some other games.

dude spyros origanals were amazing but all these stupid reboots jus need to stop unless they r gonna change everythhing about the game. the new lora croft is a complete reboot but many of these others r just a waste of freaking time and money.

I heard that some people didn't like the reboot (mostly sexist men i guess from the article) I like reboots when they're not mediocre.

Same here, but I say lets just hope they don't screw it up. I don't know how the 2nd reboot plays, but out of loyalty to the games I still wanna try 'em.

New information on Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure (Apparently, the new series is gonna be called Skylanders, if the game is good enough to make a sequel.)

They are gonna add a bit of a Pokemon/Toy Collecting vibe for this game. People who wanna play are going to need to purchase a Starter Pack, which includes 3 plug-in figures and the game disc. You hook up the figure to the Console, and then you can use that character. You can level it up like a hack-n-slash RPG, but the catch is that the way you level up/use the character is up to you, meaning there is a chance someone will have a Fire-breathing, Arsonist Spyro while someone else is using a Melee-Attack, Beserker Spyro. Co-op/Competitive play is being talked about, but no greater details are given. There are going to be around 30 different characters, but you need to buy them in order to use them.

In my own opinion, it seems a bit weird. The concept is a bit unique, though. However, I don't see the game getting as many collectors as Pokemon has.Neutral

Well. I am pleased to announce that there IS a fan spyro game that is actually a 3D platformer, and it is truly amazing the work gone into it. The animations are already under way, and I think that it will be done pretty soon (I hope) about 8-10 months before it really is a true BETA I would think.

I must admit, that does sound promising. I've played through the first Legend of Spyro game and I am current playing the second. The games aren't bad, but they do need a bit more of a creative spark to them. They're like a 'Get from Point A to B' kinda game. They are not broken, but I kinda wish they put in just a little bit more time.
