Well, as many of you can see, you all have some kind of Reputation, whether it's positive or negative or 0. This often reflects your actions on the forum.
Basically, if you make a really good post and it's informative, you'll get a +1 rating from others, if it's a flame or totally hijacking of another thread you'll get a -1 from others.
In example, if Eclipse writes a REALLY good review for "Gophers on Fire in Wisconsin: The Game" and I found it informative, or at the very least very funny and accurate. I'll press the + button at the far right of his post box.
Please, don't abuse the rep power.
