The other day I was searching for an abandonware copy of MDK (Murder Death Kill), a game I grew up on as a kid. (PC Gamer demo disc 1997! And still have it!) But I was greeted with a friendly stab-in-the-back *Buy-it-Now*, and I was absolutely floundered as to why I should have to pay for abandonware that was decommissioned years ago, and just now reinstated. It boggles my mind, and probably the cocoanut monkey's as well!
My main question is, if a game reaches a certain age in abandonware, should it not remain free? I mean, if the company redoes the game in higher graphics, adds multiplayer, etc. fine, but for them to just resale the game as their own without any enhancements for $10 is just beyond me, it was available to the public before, and now it isn't. Luckily, I went digging for my old disc and found it, so I'm in the clear, but still... If you're going to re-license a game, at *least* fix it up and add some clearly defined features that weren't there before.
