Best Final Fantasy game Ever

I've only played a few, but in my opinion, back when it was young, like Final Fantasy 3? (Had to look it up, it's actually 6 but 3 outside Japan) I mean it actually had class back then and had to stand out from the ever growing RPG crowd, although I gotta say that Chrono Trigger had it beat by a mile. But I never finished 3 sadly, lol I still have a cart lying around for the SNES somewhere...

This is a tough one to debate. I mean, Final Fantasy X had some of the best, if not THEE best, graphics for a Final Fantasy when it was released. Plus, it had a unique way to power up characters, and the story is one that will NEVER be forgotten. However, when you compare it to other RPGs, it maybe be deemed lacking. In any case, I nominate X for the best Final Fantasy.

Hmm. That might be true. HOWEVER, I have not played the game, so I can't form any opinions on it yet. And, yes, Auron is a character that has offically left his marker on gaming history. I still nominate the original Final Fantasy X for 'Best Final Fantasy'.

Is 7 for the Playstation? Because honestly I don't know at all I think it is tho, because that's my favorite for the newer(ish) consoles. I really expect the whole FF craze to die out in the next 5 years or so, otherwise we're gonna run out of numbers... Why can't they redo the first three games in english and in modern graphics, I would pay for that just because it's not something a lot of game developers do. *smells like money*

Just wait until the next big franchise, it always seems to happen. But yea, My favorite is still no. 3 just because it's really a 2D work of art. Few games can match up the the beauty of the later SNES games really, especially upscaled on newer hardware in HD, like a fully moving and interactive Mona Lisa, just more pixelated and topless.

BTW, if they could make a nice action/adventure RPG instead of turn-based or strategy, might offer some variety to the franchise as a spin-off, and bring in people who aren't used to the whole RPG concept, like a wet-your-toes kinda game, what do you think ZaChi?

I see it happening, I have to say. They made some spinn-offs, like the Chocobo series, and I think that was wise. Look at Disgaea. They made the Prinny game, and a sequel is being made. A wise choice. It might be considered like a way to draw out the series, but it still works. Playable and fun. But if FF does die out, I wanna get my hands on IX before the price sky rockets...

Nah, not turn based, action/adventure based. This way it would keep people in their comfort zones while exposing them to a new genre. Essentially, give a person who loves Action/Adventure a game with a little RPG mixed in to slowly convert them, lol Mwahahaha!

FF needs a couple genres combined into one, I don't like Kingdom Hearts, but their combat system, in the FF universe in a more RPG environment would definately be in my opinion, a great seller.

Um, sorry to interrupt, but Square is currently making a Rated-M Final Fantasy game for the normal PSP, possibly to make it it's swan song...

I know what to expect... *cocks head* Porn? But really, if you look at it this way, society's changing constantly, things that were labeled as bad in 1993 in gaming are nothing today. I mean, look at Doom, almost BANNED in a few countries, yet if you take a look at a few games in today's standards, it's much worse, and worse yet, these games are rated at T for Teen. Sexual or Adult themes are commonplace in games nowadays (remember GTA: San Andreas Hot Coffee? and how it was pulled off of the shelves?). Look at Manhunt, that game is 20x's worse than ANYTHING in Doom and there were no issues with it.

To be honest, I'm not at all surprised about this, nor really concerned. I view censorship necessary in some areas, but really it's up to you in terms of games to decide what you want to see. In some games it really enhances the story, in others, it really just is there for minigames and to make the character look bad-ass (God of War lol). Hopefully this won't affect their ability to create a good story alongside the much anticipated *boobies* lmao. *shrugs* could also be a marketing scheme too, I mean, spread a rumor that there's breasts in a videogame and there's people that buy it just to see if it's true... Not that *I* would ever do that! Quit looking at me like that!

If you think about it, Final Fantasy sounds like a porn name (Just saying as this was brought up by a friend).

Anywho, that new Final Fantasy XIII is coming out, I'll probably never touch it considering I haven't touched any Final Fantasy material since XII for the Playstation. Somehow, running around on giant chickens doesn't seem all that appealing to me... Although, I do think that some of their games look decently cool, I've never got up the heart to go play one for all that long.
