If this is your first time here, take the time to sign up. It literally takes only a few minutes and it will help the site grow. Sure, you have to sign over your soul, and sacrifice a three-headed goat to the gods of Narheplottemer, but it's well worth it. Alright, so you don't have to do that stuff, but what you *must* do is sign up, seriously, this site gets so much guest traffic it's unbelievable. And I can't have this site grow on guests.

Well the Wii U has been announced and the Technical Specs have been released.

The Wii U is the next console in the Nintendo that launches in 2012. The Wii U will be a HD gaming system and support all the controllers and accessory that the Wii does. The is one very odd thing about this console, the primary controller is basically a tablet.

-Specs Console-

  • CPU- IBM multi-core processor
  • GPU- AMD Radeon HD based on the RV770 chip (theoretically more powerful than whats in the Xbox 360 and PS3)

The console comes with internal flash memory and is expandable via SD memory cards and USB Hard Disk Drives.

-Specs Controller-

  • Built-in accelerometer, gyroscope, spearkers, front-facing camera, sensor strip, microphone and a 6.2 inch touchscreen.
  • Two Circle Pads and a D-pad
  • Styles
  • Select, Start, Home and Power buttons
  • A/B/X/Y face buttons, L/R bumper buttons and Zl/Zr trigger buttons
  • Controller sync button
Also you could play a game through the controller with the TV off.

There's a few things I noticed earlier (Thanks for the info Ravenwolf)

1. All the Handhelds are becoming more powerful than the actual damn consoles themselves.

2. They are seemingly putting A LOT of gyroscopes in these things

3. Touch-sensitive screens are becoming a fast-standard

4. IBM seems to be taking over the console market CPU wise. The PS3 was IBM and the Wii, along with the Gamecube and the 360... Hmmm...

5. That Wii-U seems to be more powerful than my damn rig lol!

Ummm, 2 questions Ravenwolf, did you happen to see any USB ports? If so, will there be any USB functions like updating through USB, or something along Other OS installations?

...You've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?

I aim to please... Although, you should know ahead of time that I don't aim very high.

Well there is four usb ports 2 front and 2 back. I really doubt that Nintendo will let you install other operating systems, and why would they have a usb update they have disk updates and the all mighty internet, for updates.
